Help Us, Help Children - Staff Pediatric Psychologist - Testing Position with Banner Children’s Specialists in Mesa, AZ! 

Banner Children’s Specialists (BCS), a multispecialty group within Banner Health, is actively recruiting for a staff Pediatric Psychologist to join our team on the campus of Banner Children’s at Banner Desert Medical Center (BDMC) in Mesa, AZ. Our current team includes two experienced Pediatric Neuropsychologists, with collaborating subspecialists in Developmental Pediatrics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Hematology/Oncology, Cardiology, Genetics, and Trauma. Banner Children's Specialists provides fully integrated pediatric care to the greater Phoenix area, with a full array of both primary and specialty care for our patient population. This is an excellent opportunity for a provider who prefers working in a collaborative, integrated system.

 

Testing Psychology Position Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology from an APA or CPA accredited program
  • Successful completion of an APA, APPIC, or CPA accredited internship training
  • Successful completion of an APA, APPIC, or CPA accredited postdoctoral training/fellowship in pediatric or lifespan psychology
  • Additional specialized training in psychological assessments/testing and specialty areas such as Autism, Learning Disabilities, and ADHD
  • Experience with and strong interest in specific Autism and Autism evaluations, ADHD, and Learning Disability Evaluations
  • Trained in independent administration and interpretation of the ADOS-2
  • Knowledge of pediatric neuropsychological assessments and/or school psychology is beneficial
  • At least 2 years of independent professional practice following completion of training
  • License or license-eligibility in the state of Arizona
  • Strong analytical, written communication, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Candidates must be eligible for paneling with public and private insurance payors

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Testing Only - This role does not involve any therapy or treatment.
  • Provide specific pediatric psychological evaluations in the outpatient setting to children (ages 0 to 18) as part of specialized psychological testing clinic that completes only Autism, ADHD, and Learning Disability evaluation
  • Testing Psychologist will collaborate with the Neuropsychological and Developmental Pediatrics departments
  • Candidates should be aware that they will not be provided with a psychometrician initially, and will be responsible for test administration, scoring, and interpretation. As this clinic grows and patient volumes increase, hiring of a psychometrician will be considered
