OneCare OB/GYN + Midwifery in Morristown, NJ is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join their established OB/GYN and Midwifery practice. Our Midwives offer a full scope of care, including preventative, maternity, and menopausal management to our patients.

Practice Summary:

  • 4 Physicians, 3 Certified Nurse Midwives, 3 Nurse Practitioners & Growing
  • Office locations in Cedar Knolls, Morristown, Montville, and Bedminster, NJ
  • On-site lab work and sonography
  • Call can be taken from home (restricted to 30 minute response time).

  • Obstetricians and Neonatologists & Advanced Neonatal Practitioners on site 24/7

The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is responsible for the assessment of selected patients in the designated service. The CNM performs physical examinations, confers with patients in person and by phone/electronically, and works hand in hand with other providers in a synergistic and cooperative manner. As a midwife in the care center, their job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Practices under the standard procedure established for the CNM role consistent with Company policy and in accordance with all legal requirements.
  • Conducts age - appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination consistent with department protocol.
  • Performs assessment/data collection in an on-going systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial. cultural, spiritual and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy.
  • Consults with supervising physician or other clinicians as dictated by patient need and assessment findings.
  • Participates with physicians and other clinicians in the department to assure effective patient care consistent with quality indicators for patients cared for in the designated service.
  • Reviews medical record for follow up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with members of the health care team, patients, and families.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles as identified by the practice.
  • Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning.
  • Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information.
  • Current on-call requirements - 7, 24-hour call shifts per month. 

Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted New Jersey CNM medical license, CDS, & DEA, or ability to obtain.
  • CNM Board Certification from AMCB. 
  • Minimum 1 year full-scope Midwifery experience highly preferred; new grads will be considered with a minimum of 3 years L&D RN experience.
  • Eligible to participate in state programs including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid.
