Job Description

ECU Health Physicians and The East Carolina Heart Institute at ECU Health Medical Center, located in Greenville, North Carolina, are seeking Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners to provide locums coverage in their Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.  Locums’ provider should have at least 2 years of ICU experience. Cardiac ICU experience is preferred.

Coverage needed for the next 1-2 months post credentialing completion.

Schedule

    • Coverage needed includes (14) 12-hour shifts every 28 days
    • Primary need is for nighttime coverage-7pm to 7am
    • Options include 3–4 night shifts per week or 7 nights per week depending on locums preference
    • Opportunity exists to work weekend day shift 7 am to 7pm

 

Job Highlights and Clinical Responsibilities

  •  24-bed state of the art ICU
  • Established team with high quality academic intensivists.
  • Ability to perform procedures including:
    • Arterial Lines
    • Central Venous Lines
    • Intubation
    • Ventilator Management
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and diagnoses.
  • Develop treatment plans and order diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in line with scope of practice – provider must have a DEA license.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams.
  • Provide patient education and follow-up care

 

The East Carolina Heart Institute ranks amongst the top cardiac facilities in the country. The six-story, 375,000-square-foot tower houses clinical space, diagnostic services, and cardiovascular operating rooms. It has 120 beds for patients undergoing procedures for cardiac medicine, cardiac surgery, and vascular surgery.
