Position Overview
The award-winning physicians at Lehigh Valley Heart and Vascular Institute are all board-certified, many having served fellowships or received additional training with leading programs. Our expert clinicians utilize continuing medical education to further research and enhance collaboration, leading to better patient outcomes.
- 12-hour shift position for coverage of the 11-bed cardiothoracic surgery ICU (Open Heart Unit).
- Shift will rotate, 2 weeks days/2 weeks nights, with 2 weekends per month.
- Work in conjunction with the attending cardiothoracic surgeon, and non-surgical providers, for medical care of cardiothoracic surgical patients.
- Duties include: managing post cardiac and thoracic surgery patients, ECMO, LVAD, bedside procedures, and assisting in inpatient practice needs.
- Perform initial evaluation, history, and physical examination of all assigned patients.
- Placement of invasive monitoring lines including central venous catheters, dialysis lines, and arterial access.
- Participate in ongoing education, quality, and research projects.
- Contribute to service-related databases as indicated.
- Participate in education of patients and families during their inpatient course.

Qualifications
- Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified
- A Valid Pennsylvania Medical License or ability to obtain one is required
- Graduate from accredited educational program for Physician Assistant
