LVHN is partnering with Cedar Crest College to hire an exceptional nurse practitioner, with at least two years of Family Medicine or Primary Care experience, to act as Director for the Cedar Crest College Health and Counseling Center.
Job Summary
Responsible for the overall function and delivery of student health and counseling services at the Cedar Crest College. This position is .83 FTE including the academic year and some summer hours.
Essential Functions
Oversees the health and counseling center’s clinical teams, resources, and services.
- Establishes strategic goals and priorities for the health and counseling center in collaboration with Cedar Crest College administration.
- Continually assesses the ongoing physical, mental and behavioral health needs of Cedar Crest College students to inform staffing, reduce barriers for access, and increase opportunities for engagement, particularly with underrepresented populations.
- Partners closely with the Dean of Students office, Housing and Residence Life, and Recreation and Wellness to identify opportunities for health promotion programming to address ongoing and emerging health issues such as chronic disease, substance use disorders and mental health.
- Leads student outreach activities and measurably increase engagement in student health promotion and prevention initiatives.
- Uses quantitative and qualitative metrics to assess services and programs and continuously evaluate the quality of care to students.
- Represents the student health clinic and LVHN on standing committees including (but not limited to): CARE Team, Student Success and Engagement, Incident Management Team, and the Health Services Advisory Committee.
- Provides direct patient care services for students in the health clinic providing quality evaluation and treatment to patients and maintaining optimal availability for patient care.
- Documents and codes all patient visits and encounters in appropriate medical record in accordance with LVHN or other applicable compliance standers, state, and federal guidelines.
- Uses standard processes and evidence-based guidelines to achieve quality care. Supports LVHN resources and practitioners by promoting and referring internally, when appropriate, to enhance quality. Utilizes LVHN resources efficiently and effectively, including EMR technology, while ensuring timely, appropriate, and quality medical documentation.
- Participates in annual continuing professional education through the American College Health Association to ensure services and programs are culturally competent, evidence based and in accordance with ACHA’s best practices and recommendations.

Qualifications
Education – Required
- Master’s Degree Accredited CRNP program
Licenses and Certifications – Required
- CRNP – Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner – State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
- RN – Licensed Registered Nurse – State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
Additional Qualifications
- Experience leading public health initiatives and clinical teams, strong skills in LGBTQ+ health, and experience in college health services and/or diverse young adult populations.
- Maintain appropriate institutional, departmental, and state professional certifications and continuing education requirements.
