Position Highlights:

  • Independent practice with strong affiliation with local tertiary care hospital
  • Robust in-house diagnostic testing facility

  • Work closely with interventional spine/PM&R physician and specialized staff

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain history and physical exam in order to break down clinical symptoms into manageable treatment options
  • Educate patient and family about chronic spine, musculoskeletal and nerve pain condition
  • Medication Management with non-opioid medications
  • Screening of new patients and determining procedural candidacy
  • Follow-up with patients to assess response to treatment including physical therapy, medication management, and interventional therapies
  • Opportunity to learn office-based procedural therapies such as large joint injections including hip, shoulder and knee, and trigger point injections.
  • Educating patients about their radiographic imaging results and correlation to symptoms and potential interventional therapies
  • Interventional spinal procedures:
    • Ability to discuss indications and details of procedure with patients
    • Risk/benefit/alternative analysis with patients
    • Post procedure assessment for efficacy and complication

Required Qualifications:
•    Unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of New York or has New York application in process 
•    Graduate of an Accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program, Masters level preferred 
•    National Board Certification  
•    Active and unrestricted DEA License or ability to obtain prior to start
