Baystate Health is seeking an experienced Neonatal Physician Assistant to join our organization.  Baystate Children’s Hospital is a 107-bed and 55-bassinet hospital within Baystate Medical Center in Springfield MA.

Position Highlights

  • Join our team of 10 NICU NNPs and PAs and 7 neonatologists in the region’s only Level III NICU.
  • Top-notch evidence-based care is our highest priority as we manage the daily care of high-risk infants in both our NICU and Continuing Care Nursery. Our APPs attend deliveries and participate in patient transports.  We utilize advanced modes of respiratory support including bubble CPAP, NIMV, CMV, HFOV, HFJV, and inhaled nitric oxide.
  • Our care team includes respiratory therapists, dietician, pharmacist, occupational therapist, social worker, and case management/discharge planner. Outstanding specialty support is available onsite.
  • Opportunity to be engaged in clinical and QI research, as well as involved in the medical education of resident physicians, medical students and APP students.
  • 12 or 24 hour shifts with rotating days/nights/weekends split evenly across the team.
  • Full time, part time and per diem roles are available.
  • Qualifications: BC Physician Assistant.  Experience in a level III nursery is highly desired.

At the end of 2017, Baystate opened a Pediatric Procedures & Infusion Unit bringing cancer treatment and other procedures together in a new environment, just steps away from its pediatric inpatient facilities.
