The Specialty Advanced Practice Registered Nurse is a licensed independent provider responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for identified patients in accordance with the State and Federal rules and regulations and within the scope of practice for the Board of Nursing. The Specialty APRN may provide care in areas such as cardiac, pulmonary, oncology, pediatric/obstetric and gynecological care. APRN may work in a wide variety of health care settings, including hospitals, physicians’ offices, and clinics. APRN will care for patients as well as interacting with the public, often serving as a liaison between the doctor and the families of patients.

Current APRN licensure required. BLS required. |
Minimum of three years full-time experience as APRN in specialty area. Must possess and maintain BLS and ACLS. Demonstrated clinical competence; ability to collaborate with others; ability to initiate and plan own activities; effective patient/staff teaching. Must apply for hospital privileges. Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with patients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines, and understand the Associate Handbook and all hospital policies. |
