Bon Secours Southampton Family Medicine in Franklin VA is adding a Family Nurse Practitioner to our existing, well-established primary care practice!  This will expand access to medical care to the residents of the City of Franklin and surrounding counties. Southampton Family Medicine is a 40+ years old practice with a large patient panel that continues to attract new patients. 

• New grads & experienced NP applicants welcomed
• We're seeking a mature, dedicated, professional, compassionate provider to put down roots in the practice and help complete our team.
• 1 MD and 2 NP in the practice currently, we are also recruiting for an MD for the team
• Monday - Friday - 7:30 - 5:00 - 5-8's or 4-10's - flexible schedule
• Position is full time - 36 clinical/patient facing hours and 4 admin hours per week
• EPIC EMR - MyChart for telemedicine and e-visits
• After-hours Call rotation is equally shared - 1 week out of every 6 weeks - based on number of providers in the practice - Telephone Call only - no hospital responsibility
• Average 20 patients per day after ramp-up process
• Collaborating MD will be in the same practice
• Patients are all ages - Peds to Geriatric - low peds %
• Full scope primary care includes some laceration closure, cryo for skin lesions, paps, joint injections, minor wound care - training and shadowing is available
• Support from 1:1 dedicated CMA or LPN
• Providers see patients for scheduled appointments, routine follow ups, hospital follow ups, pre-operative medical clearance, Rx refills, follow up on labs/imaging results, documents encounters in EMR and closes charts same day, sign home health orders and manage patient correspondence as needed.
• Opportunity to precept NP students as requested
• This is an opportunity to join a well established practice with a large patient panel in a medically under served area.  This is a rural practice location so the 4 day work week is a great option if you don't live in Franklin.  The practice has been recently renovated and is on the campus of Southampton Medical Center, so labs and imaging are very convenient.  Franklin has a population of 8,000+ and has old town charm along with agriculture and manufacturing in the area.  We are one hour from Richmond, one hour from Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads metro area, two hours from the North Carolina OBX and 3 hours from the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.

Southampton Family Medicine is a busy, well-established family practice office with a large patient panel in a medically underserved and healthcare provider shortage area.  

Franklin, Virginia and the Surrounding Area:

Franklin, Virginia is a beautiful town of 8,400 situated in the Tidewater region of Virginia.  Southampton Memorial Hospital is the sole community provider and has a market drawing area of 44,000.  The City of Franklin and Southampton County are referenced as being in the “middle of everywhere.”  This southeastern Virginia community is only a few miles from the North Carolina border.  Forty miles to the east lay Norfolk and Virginia Beach famous for its shipping and seaside resorts and the beautiful Atlantic Oceanfront!  One hour to the north are the historic attractions of Richmond and Petersburg.  Also within a one hour drive is the famous restored colonial Williamsburg.  Within two hours drive are the fishing and resort areas of the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Southampton Memorial Hospital:

 Southampton Memorial Hospital, established in 1963 is a 219 bed healthcare facility. The facility underwent a $24 million renovation with new construction of the ED and OR in 2004. All patient rooms at the hospital are private. 

Services include cardiopulmonary, general surgery, orthopaedics, gynecology, home health, ICU, emergency services, full service laboratory, imaging services, nuclear medicine, physical rehabilitation and long term care.  There are 40 active staff members, 42 courtesy staff and 17 consulting staff.
