Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant, Ortho Trauma PA

The Piedmont Physician Network Ortho-Trauma team is looking for a bright, hard-working Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (RNFA) to join the team at Piedmont Medical Center.

This is a highly coveted position in the Charlotte metro area, and the team is for the candidate that has orthopedic surgery experience.

Responsibilities:

• Under the supervision of the Orthopedic trauma surgeon, provides direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services to patients in Ortho-Trauma.
• Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic procedures.
• Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• When applicable: Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care. scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
• Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventive health, treatment options and community resources.

Procedures:

• Ortho-Trauma a plus
• General Trauma
• Reductions/splinting (highly preferred, but willing to train)
• First-assist experience

Work Schedule: This position requires a very flexible provider who understands the needs of the department and is willing to adapt to a variety of rotating schedules.

Piedmont Medical Center  is the main campus, Level III Trauma Center, with 288 beds and is a full service hospital in York County.
