Mercy Health in Toledo is seeking a dedicated Orthopedic Physician Assistant to join our esteemed team. In this role, you will work closely with our orthopedic surgeons to provide exceptional patient care across various settings. Your responsibilities will include conducting initial assessments, managing post-operative care, diagnosing, and treating nonsurgical musculoskeletal issues, and assisting in surgical cases. This position offers a structured schedule of 5: 8 hour days with weekend clinic rotations, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Orthopedic Surgeons: Collaborate closely with physicians to provide comprehensive care to orthopedic patients.
  • Patient Care: Conduct initial evaluations, follow-up visits, and manage nonsurgical and post-operative cases.
  • Clinic Management: Manage your own clinic sessions dedicated to nonsurgical and post-operative care.
  • Practice Support: Work alongside a supportive team including Medical Assistants, LPNs, X-ray Technicians, and administrative staff shared across multiple orthopedic practices within Mercy Health.
  • Location: Mercy Health locations including St. Vincent, Perrysburg, and Sylvania.

Requirements:

  • Education: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Certification: Current PA license and NCCPA certification.
  • Experience: Previous experience in orthopedics preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Strong clinical skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
  • Schedule: Willingness to work a structured schedule including weekend clinic rotations with no call responsibilities.
