Job Summary

St. Christopher's Hospital for Children is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in our Intensive Care Unit to join our team.

 

Highlights:

  • You will join a team of 7 attending Physicians, 7 Nurse Practitioners.
  • The unit is covered 24/7 by 2 Mid level providers.  The Hours of coverage vary 7a-4p, 4p-8a, and 7a-8a.  Your shifts will vary throughout the month.
  • Weekend and holiday coverage is expected. There are (3) 25 hr shifts of weekend time per month.  Usually, one Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • There is call associated with this position - It will vary, minimum of 6 calls per month.  Shifts will vary according to need.        
  • The PNP is responsible for a practice that demonstrates a high level of autonomy, clinical decision making and advanced skill in management and treatment of complex illnesses in the critical care environment.

  • The PNP provides leadership and clinical support for the interdisciplinary team in the PICU/CCU/SCU, engages in research and quality management activities and, participates in multidisciplinary educational activities.
  • Procedures expected to perform in the hospital setting: Endo tracheal Intubation, Arterial and Central Venous Line Placement, Chest tube placement, Bedside Procedural Sedation, Spinal Taps

    Average number of patients seen - We have a 26 bed PICU that also houses Cardio Thoracic and Burn Patients.
