We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role offers a mix of inpatient and outpatient coverage, providing comprehensive endocrinology services in Winston-Salem and the surrounding areas.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide outpatient services at existing locations and through virtual health models.
  • Participate in the inpatient glucose management team.
  • Use medical decision-making skills to develop appropriate patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with the medical team to ensure effective team-based care.
  • Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures, explaining them to patients.
  • Perform procedural skills as per department guidelines.
  • Engage in basic science and clinical research projects.
  • Precept students and/or medical learners.
  • Uphold AHWFB missions, values, and cultural commitment.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Physician Assistant (PA) Requirements:
    • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master’s Degree preferred.
    • Certified by NCCPA and licensed by the North Carolina Medical Board.
    • Minimum of one year of experience in a primary care or endocrinology environment.
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) Requirements:
    • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master’s Program; Master’s degree or higher required.
    • Licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner.
    • Board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC.
    • Minimum of one year of experience in a primary care or endocrinology environment.
