PA/NP Growth Opportunity in Interventional Radiology at BUMCT!

Banner – University Medicine Tucson is growing and interviewing Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners to provide exceptional patient care services as part of the Interventional Radiology team. The position provides an excellent opportunity to work with a robust interventional team offering all procedure types and complexity levels. As an advanced level provider, the candidate will autonomously perform procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, drain/tube exchanges, and line placement. They will also assist in working up consults and managing patients.

  • Evaluation of the daily schedule of procedures with the supervising physician to determine where skills set will be best utilized.
  • Performance of procedures under the guidance of the supervising Radiologist such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsies, drain/tube exchanges, and line placement.
  • Evaluation of preliminary reports and preparation of technical reports for review and sign-off by the supervising Radiologist
  • Participation in patient case management including prescribing additional imaging procedures, following review with the supervising Radiologist.
  • Assessment and evaluation the physiologic and psychological responsiveness of each patient
  • Administration and order management of medications, with supervising Radiologist co-signature prior to order initiation
  • Response to urgent and emergent situations during the performance of essential functions which may include initial patient rescue.
  • Collection and analysis of information regarding equipment, procedures and work environment for radiation safety, patient safety, risk management and quality management for recommendation and implementation of corrective action, if necessary
  • Preparation of tumor board cases for collaborative team review

 

Practice Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | Daytime Hours  

Minimum Qualifications

  • PA/NP Certification is required.
  • Experience performing Radiologic Procedures is preferred but not required. On the job training will be provided as needed. 
  • Fluoroscopy and Ultrasound Guidance Certification is preferred.
