CentraCare – Emergency Department is seeking a qualified Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to staff our Western Region Emergency Departments in Long Prairie, Melrose, and Sauk Centre, MN; with the ability to see and treat all age ranges.
Responsibilities
As a member of the ED/ER team, you will care for patients in an acute setting utilizing advanced assessment and physical examination skills to provide high-quality patient care services.
Schedule
- 1.0 FTE
- Varying shifts (12 hrs., 16 hrs.), days/hours, and locations
- This position will have shifts scheduled into the weekend and holiday rotations
Requirements
To be eligible for this position you must meet the following requirements -
- Completion of a formal nurse practitioner or physician assistant program approved by a national accrediting agency
- Certified as a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant
- Current or pending licensure in the State of Minnesota
- ATLS or CALS, ACLS, BLS Certifications
- This position is open to Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners who are interested in providing care in an Emergency Department setting, licensed and able to treat patients of all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Experience
Preference given to candidates having relevant provider work experience in one of the following areas -
- Emergency Department
- Urgent Care
- Family Medicine
- Walk-In Clinic
In addition, all applicants must have a current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider card and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration number prior to receiving clinical privileges. Additional certifications needed are ACLS, ATLS or CALS.
JOB SUMMARY
The APP provides direct, high-quality patient care services requiring extensive skills and competency. The APP makes independent and collaborative health care decisions. The APP practices within the scope of practice as defined by certification/licensure standards and state and federal regulations. The Advanced Practice provider follows established protocols and collaborates with physicians, however, does have day-to-day independence in health care decisions.
