Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider at Mischer Neuroscience Associates

Mischer Neuroscience Associates (MNA) currently seeks Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with acute care/critical care experience to join our outstanding team in the Cypress area. Responsible for providing comprehensive patient care congruent with role concentration on TIA/stroke, seizures, MS and/or not limited to neuro-oncology through systemic assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, and follow up affecting direct patient care.

MNA provides comprehensive diagnostic consultation services for a broad number of neurological conditions to our referring physicians, new patient evaluations for those without physician referrals and second opinion consultations. In addition, our expert team provides state-of-the-art electromyography and nerve conduction studies (EMG/NCV) in-office with the most advanced technology in a comfortable atmosphere.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • Minimum two (2) years clinical experience preferred in inpatient setting
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • Certified by the NCCPA or ANCC
  • Current, unrestricted License by the Texas State Board

  • 100% Outpatient Clinic
  • Clinic Hours: 8 am – 5:00pm Monday - Friday
  • 12-15 patients per day
  • Primarily adults; adolescents based on preference
  • No ER call
  • Excellent administrative and clinical support with tenured staff
  • Located in a large, diverse community with excellent growth potential
  • Collaboration with McGovern Medical School at UTHealth
  • Outpatient Neurology experience preferred

  • Memorial Hermann Cypress will grow from 81 beds to 105 beds within existing space on campus. A dedicated Neuro/Cardiac Unit opened July 2019
  • Telemedicine coverage provided by dedicated vascular neurologists in collaboration with Mischer Neuroscience Institute at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and McGovern Medical School at UTHealth
  • Seeking Primary Stroke Center certification by The Joint Commission and Trauma Level III

Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital opened on March 31, 2017 and brings the expertise of the Memorial Hermann Health System, including the region’s top medical specialists, to families in the Cypress and Northwest Houston area.

In our 4.5 years, Memorial Hermann Cypress has continued to exceed expectations, including a $25 million expansion after our first year of operation as well as surpassed our year-over-year budget and volume goals. In addition, our Medical Staff has grown by 320% since we opened our doors; we currently have over 800 physicians credentialed on staff.

Due to our continued success and growth in the market, our future includes an expansion plan that will be inclusive of a 38-bed Medical/Surgical unit with the addition of two Observation beds.  The expansion would make us a 143-licensed inpatient bed hospital.  In addition, this expansion will also be inclusive of a parking garage and a second medical plaza.

Memorial Hermann Cypress is master-planned to be a 400-bed hospital.
