UVA Health's Bull Run Manassas is hiring a Nurse Practitioner to join their growing team.  The incumbent will provide primary health care and perform selective medical services under the direction of practice physicians.

Patient Care: Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention.  

  • Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention. 
  • Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.? 

Quality: Collaborates with other departments or disciplines to achieve desired quality outcomes. 

  • Monitors quality of core processes in department. 
  • Applies the principles of safety and infection control to ensure the safety of all patients.? 

Communication: Demonstrates superior interpersonal and communication skills.  

  • Works within a team to achieve patient and team goals. 
  • Shares and initiates regular and professional communication with co-workers.? 
  • Participates in regular staff meetings.? 
  • Identifies opportunities to improve processes based on feedback from staff and customers. 

Hours:

  • Flexible Schedule/hours available Providers have 1 long day shift, with patient care from 8am to 7pm, Tuesday to Friday, first appointment is at 8am and last appointment ends at 4:30pm.**Schedules arranged to comply with 36 hours a week required.**

Call Schedule:

  • On Call responsibilities are distributed among all providers at Bull Run Family Medicine Manassas, Haymarket and Family and Sports Medicine Bristow.  There is phone answering services provided by a professional call service who has triage team available after hours.  If they are unable to address the call, they will escalate to provider On Call.  The current rotation provides for 3-4 weeks of coverage in a year (approximately)

Medical Knowledge:?Provides primary health care and performs selective medical services under the direction of practice physicians.  

  • Obtains complete history and physical data on patients. 
  • Reviews patient records.? 
  • Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed. 
  • Performs a complete physical exam and records findings. 
  • Establishes presumptive diagnosis. 
  • Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. 
  • Performs independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations.? 
  • Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.? 

The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.
