Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Neurology (Outpatient)

We are seeking qualified applicants with strong work ethic and an appreciation of excellent teamwork who are interested in continuing their education and developing their practice in a fast paced and challenging work environment. Advanced practice providers will receive extensive training and will have a high level of autonomy with general supervision from Neurology Physicians.

Our neurology team provides next-level research, education and training, clinical care programs, and administration.  We serve our geographic community, and we also serve a national and international community of people who travel from elsewhere in the country and the world to take advantage of our specialized services and partnership.

Our staff, faculty and clinicians work with UMass Memorial Health and UMass Chan School of Medicine, as well as other institutions and programs in some of the world’s best academic centers.  In central and western Massachusetts, we deliver diverse and equitable treatment solutions designed to increase our patients’ quality of life.

With a Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level 4 National Association of Epilepsy Centers accreditation, a Multiple Sclerosis center partnered with five nonprofit foundations and a Huntington’s Disease Society partner center within a robust Movement Disorder Program, we are positioned to educate our trainees to provide comprehensive and compassionate patient care.  Our world-renowned expertise in neuromuscular disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis led to innovative genetic treatment, and we are pioneers in delivering these treatment approaches.  

Position Highlights:

• Our practice framework will be structured as Monday to Friday 8 hours per day position. Responsibility will include clinic and administrative.

• Flexible schedule - no nights, weekends or holiday calls

• Opportunities to get involved in research is also available

• As part of an academic medical center, our division is committed to the continued education of our staff, with Category 1 CME offered for many educational meetings. In addition, there are multiple teaching opportunities.  

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree

• Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

• BLS & ACLS certification
