Banner University Medicine Tucson seeks a dynamic Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our busy Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Division at Banner University Medical Center Tucson (BUMCT). BUMCT has an extremely busy and growing complex surgical oncology practice, with significant expertise in malignant and benign HPB disease. With a growing practice in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery (HPB Surgery) at Banner University Medical Center Tucson (BUMCT). HPB patients have average hospital stays of 5-10 days depending on the procedure performed. This position will be focused on daily inpatient management and improving communication during the transition of care from the inpatient to the outpatient setting. This provider will work with a team of attending surgeons, residents, inpatient nurses, and outpatient APPs/nurses/MAs to manage acute inpatient problems and provide continuity across continuum of care including diagnosis, initial workup, surgery, discharge planning, and postoperative multidisciplinary follow-up. The Advanced Practice Provider would function in a largely inpatient role to support the HPB patients throughout their surgical experience and the transition of care from inpatient to outpatient. The ideal candidate will be comfortable being involved in clinical management of patients, performing therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, interpretation of diagnostic tests, prescription of medications, education, consultation, and research . This position is also open to highly motivated new grads with interest in inpatient experience with complex surgical experience who works well in a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
