Bon Secours Neuroscience Center is seeking a Neurocritical Care NP/PA for St. Mary's Hospital!

Bon Secours Neuroscience Center is currently seeking a Neurocritical Care NP/PA for St. Mary’s Hospital.  The Neurocritical Care APC will be working alongside neurocritical care colleagues.  In addition to direct patient care, provides management oversight and direction for clinical day to day operations.  This position is responsible for professional development of neurocritical care APCs and operational process improvement.  This is an inpatient opportunity and will require call and some night coverage.  The ideal candidate will have two to three years of formal training beyond advanced practice certification in clinical area. Critical care experience (as RN or Advanced Practice provider) required; Must have significant experience and knowledge specific to neuroscience, acute stroke response, and acute care medical practice standards and pathways; NIHSS Certified

Job Details: 

  • 3 12 hour shifts per week, must be open to nights.
  • Call schedule: 36 hours per week.
  • Hospital Credentialing: Mary’s Hospital
  • Average Patients per day: 10-20 all adult
  • Patient Base: Inpatient
  • Typical Day: Support NIS Physicians and Neurologists.  Part of team providing 24/7 coverage at a comprehensive stroke center - this position responds to code strokes.  ALSO - SERVES AS A LEADER FOR NEUROCRITICAL CARE APCs and holds each individual accountable to performance and behavioral expectations.   Collaborate with Neurologists and Neurointerventional Surgeons.  Complexity and acuity are to help academic medical center.  Have teleneurology (MD) support for code strokes, but NPs respond to all code strokes in person.
  • Expectation: Support for IP service at comprehensive stroke center. 
  • Virginia license and certification required.
