Today, the 178-bed, general acute care facility boasts spacious, private rooms for all patients as well as a 24-hour emergency department; medical and oncology services; medical/surgical inpatient units; and intensive care and short-stay surgery units. Shoals Hospital also operates the region’s only in-patient acute rehabilitation facility, the J. W. Sommer Rehabilitation Unit and the Shoals Senior Care Center, the area’s only psychiatric unit 30 beds dedicated to our senior adults.
