Job Summary
The APP is a patient-centered, system-oriented teammate who manages the care of all patients within the Acute Care Surgery/Emergency General Surgery setting. The APP is an integral part of an interdisciplinary team to perform assigned clinical duties, while displaying the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct as well as acting in the best interest of Atrium Health, supporting our mission, vision and values.

Education, Experience and Certification:
Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program. Eligibility for licensure to practice as a NP or PA in the state of practice. Eligibility for prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS for healthcare provider from AHA required. Maintenance of Certification is required.
PATIENT POPULATION SERVED:
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to age specific issues and data reflective of the patient’s status. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the following age groups:

Will limit access to protected health information (PHI) to the information reasonably necessary to do the job.
Will share information only on a need to know basis for work purposes.

Reporting
This position reports directly to their collaborating physician and/or APP leader.
NP: master’s degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. ACNP or AGACNP board certification required based population served.
PA: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required; master’s degree preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
