Child Psychologist, Autism Clinic

Mercyhealth, an award-winning fully integrated health care delivery organization based in Wisconsin and Illinois, is seeking an experienced Child Psychologist to join our Autism Clinic in Janesville, WI. This is a full time, Monday – Friday position, with no call, weekends, or holidays – great for work/life balance! This is a rewarding and fulfilling opportunity to provide direct service to patients in the Child Autism Program and promote the continued growth of the program!

Opportunity

  • Provide diagnostic testing for individuals with suspected autism.
  • Complete psychosocial assessments, psychological testing, and treatment plans in cooperation with patient and multidisciplinary team.
  • Assist with interpreting psychological tests as needed.
  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the clinical needs of each patient prior to beginning individual, family or group therapy.
  • Work collaboratively with the patient to develop a treatment plan addressing the patient’s goals.
  • Deliver behavioral health care in accordance with patient evaluation, treatment plan and within the scope of their license.
  • Work directly in treatment relationship with patients, individually or in groups, in consultation with Psychiatrist/NP.
  • Provide crisis assessment and intervention.
  • Consult and coordinate care of patient with physician/NP, therapists and community agencies.
  • Provide appropriate discharge planning.
  • Refer patient or patient's family to other community resources.
  • Participate in clinical collaboration and/or psychiatry supervision to discuss cases and determine appropriate course of treatment.
  • Maintain pertinent patient data and documentation in medical record in accordance with state, TJC and Mercyhealth system guidelines.
  • Attend required meetings or staffing as indicated by Program Manager.
  • Provide in-service education programs and functions as a resource to other staff and the community as needed.
  • Participate in development and selection of patient education materials and services.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all Mercyhealth, State and TJC policies and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Psychology and appropriate level of field experience and coursework.
  • Holds and maintains Psychologist license in the state of practice.
