OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS

St. Peter's Health Partners Medical Associates is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join the Ellis Medicine Orthopedic Surgical PA team located in Schenectady, New York.

Weekly schedule will include:

  • Varying shifts of 8, 10, 16 or 24-hours totaling 80 hours per pay period
  • Potential for 24-hour shifts to transition to in-house and some on-call with callback in the upcoming year
  • Shift differential for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • All weekends and holidays will be shared with a group of four other full-time Ortho PAs
  • Potential for cross-coverage across SPHP after training, be credentialed for multiple local sites within SPHP
  • Responsible for Pre/Post OP patient orders, floor rounding, and inpatient hospital management
  • ED 1st call for Ortho cases

Position Details:

  • Evaluate and manage fractures, dislocations, and other Ortho emergency cases
  • Interpret X-rays and CT scans and communicate finding with Ortho attending's
  • Perform H+P exams as required
  • Order and interpret appropriate labs and tests
  • Evaluate all inpatient Ortho consults
  • 1st and 2nd assist in the OR
  • Mix of Spine, upper extremities, sports medicine, and total joints

Interested candidates should have the following:

  • NYS licensure and DEA required
  • Graduation from an AMA approved program, Board Certification
  • One to two years of experience required
