Behavioral Health Consultants are integral to the medical teams, working alongside their medical colleagues to address the patient's emotional needs and the psychological aspects of complex medical conditions. Location: Multiple positions available- in-person and on-site within a primary care practice. Current openings include: Atoka, TN, Memphis, TN, and Southaven, MS

Compensation:

  • First-year salary ranges from $65,000 to $85,000 annually (depending on experience)
  • Your paycheck is not determined by billable hours, which creates consistent pay and peace of mind.
  • Up to $6,000 per year towards continuing education and professional expenses
  • Reimbursement of required professional licenses, professional board/certification fees/dues

The Role:

As a Behavioral Health Consultant, you will serve an essential role on a medical care team. You will be considered the expert in mental health and addressing the psychological aspects of various health conditions. Most commonly, the mental health challenges patients bring to primary care include depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and substance misuse. Using evidence-based behavioral approaches, you can also help patients experiencing difficulty with insomnia, living with chronic pain, adhering to their medical treatment plan, or wanting to lose weight. You will work collaboratively with physicians, other medical providers, and medical staff to help address the psychological and emotional needs that patients bring to the clinic and to provide high-quality healthcare that improves the overall well-being of every patient we serve.

About You:

  • Master's or Doctoral Degree from an accredited school in Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • An active, independent license in the State of Tennessee or another state with the ability to gain a license in TN as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Psychologist (with HSP), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC/MHSP).
  • Clinical experience as a behavioral health provider working with patients with co-occurring mental health, substance use concerns, and physical health problems.
  • Proven experience and competence with brief, evidence-based intervention techniques such as Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy are preferred.
