Join our dedicated healthcare team as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) and play a crucial role in enhancing patient care. We are looking for a skilled and compassionate APN to deliver exceptional services in both outpatient and acute medical settings. This position offers a dynamic work environment where critical thinking, effective communication, and independence are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in outpatient or acute care settings.
  • Utilize critical thinking and decision-making skills to address complex patient needs and collaborate effectively with other healthcare providers.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, families, and staff while upholding high standards of care.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities to manage patient care in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stay informed about mandatory and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, CLIA, and CMS standards.
  • Accurately code and charge for services rendered, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to coding standards.
  • Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other computer tools efficiently to manage patient data and clinical information.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Licensure:

    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active RN license in Washington State.
    • Master’s or Doctoral Degree from an accredited institution recognized by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
    • Current unrestricted registration/license in Washington State as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
    • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurse’s Credentialing Center or American Academy of Nursing preferred.
    • Current BLS and ACLS/PALS certifications required.
  • Experience:

    • At least one year of recent full-time experience providing direct patient care in outpatient or acute care settings preferred.
  • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

    • Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage complex cases independently.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues, patients, and families.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and EMR systems.
    • Ability to perform sensory tasks (vision, speech, touch, etc.) for accurate patient assessment and treatment.
    • Proven ability to work well in a team, manage stress, and adapt to changing environments.
    • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in patient care and documentation.

About Us

Klickitat Valley Health is a rural, critical-access hospital located in scenic Goldendale, Washington only two hours from Portland along the breathtaking Columbia River Gorge. KVH offers emergency and acute inpatient care and a full scope of ancillary services including General Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, Respiratory Therapy, PT / OT, Behavioral Health, Orthopedics, Dental, Pain Management and Hospice. The hospital also owns a busy, well-established primary clinic that is located on hospital campus. Inpatient care is managed by 24/7 Hospitalist staff. KVH employs nearly 300 staff.
