Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive patient care through assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in outpatient and acute care settings.
  • Apply advanced critical thinking and decision-making skills to address the complex healthcare needs of diverse patient populations.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless, integrated care.
  • Deliver compassionate and responsive care, maintaining high standards of service for patients, families, and healthcare colleagues.
  • Stay informed about and comply with regulatory and mandatory healthcare standards, including HIPAA, CLIA, and CMS requirements.
  • Ensure accurate coding and billing for all services provided, adhering to proper documentation and coding standards.
  • Efficiently manage patient information using electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare systems.

Qualifications:

Education/Licensure:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active RN license in Washington State.
  • Master’s or Doctoral Degree in nursing from an accredited institution recognized by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
  • Active, unrestricted Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license in Washington State.
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) preferred.
  • Current BLS and ACLS/PALS certifications required.

Experience:

  • At least one year of recent clinical experience providing direct patient care in an outpatient or acute care setting preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated expertise in critical thinking and clinical decision-making to manage complex cases independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring effective interactions with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and EMR systems for efficient patient management.
  • Ability to perform sensory tasks (vision, speech, touch) critical for accurate patient assessment and care.
  • Proven organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in patient documentation and clinical care.

Klickitat Valley Health is a rural, critical-access hospital located in scenic Goldendale, Washington only two hours from Portland along the breathtaking Columbia River Gorge. KVH offers emergency and acute inpatient care and a full scope of ancillary services including General Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, Respiratory Therapy, PT / OT, Behavioral Health, Orthopedics, Dental, Pain Management and Hospice. The hospital also owns a busy, well-established primary clinic that is located on hospital campus. Inpatient care is managed by 24/7 Hospitalist staff. KVH employs nearly 300 staff.
