Crozer Health’s Department of Psychiatry is seeking candidates for the position of Physician Assistant. Under the supervision of a psychiatrist, responsibilities include providing thorough psychiatric assessments and psychopharmacological treatments. Duties include examination, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders for patients who present with a wide range of complex psychiatric diagnoses on our crisis and consultation service or on our adult inpatient psychiatry unit located at Crozer Chester Medical Center in Upland, PA. The physician assistant will work as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team providing care to patients that present to the crisis service in need of emergency psychiatric assessment as well as consultation to patients in the health system as part of the consult service. Alternately, the PA may serve as the full-time PA on the adult inpatient unit working as a member the interdisciplinary treatment team. The ideal candidate is someone who can quickly establish rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds, is quick thinking, and can communicate effectively with the treatment team while still providing top quality patient care.

Typically two to four years of experience as a Physician Assistant with ability to provide care for psychiatric patients in the outpatient setting, with limited supervision.
New graduates are welcome to apply to the inpatient/crisis position.
Successful completion of an approved Physician Assistant training program. Licensure in the state of Pennsylvania; Current DEA license.
