Child Psych- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Join us in providing intensive, collaborative, therapeutic services supporting youth and their families. We are hiring a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Clinical Nurse Specialist to work with our Child and Adolescent Psychiatry team. In this role, you will serve patients and families across Central Minnesota’s who have complex mental health problems.

Schedule:

• Part-time, 0.5 FTE
• 2- 3 days per week 
• 8:00am-5:00pm
• No nights. No Holidays. No weekends. 

 QUALIFICATIONS

 Education:

• Successful completion of a formal physician assistant, nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist program, approved by a national agency. 
• Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Minnesota
• Certification as a Physician Assistant in Minnesota
• Certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Minnesota

Experience

• Minimum of three years of experience in Behavioral Health Nursing preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

• Completion of no less than 30 hours of formal study in prescribing of psychotropic medications and medications to treat their side effects which included instruction in health assessment, psychotropic classifications, psychopharmacology, indications, dosages, contraindications, side effects, and evidence of application.
• Written agreement with a Minnesota psychiatrist or other Minnesota physician based on standards established by the Minnesota Nurses Association and the Minnesota Psychiatric Association in a Memorandum of Understanding that defines the delegated responsibilities related to the prescription of drugs in relationship to the diagnosis.
• Successful compliance with Minnesota Law, Chapter 372 relating to sexual exploitation of patients by staff providing psychotherapy services.
