Details

  • Specialty: Cardiology
  • Subspecialty Interest: Acute care
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday - 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 
  • Call Schedule: Rotating call 2-3 nights a month from home (paid) and a weekend rotation of approximately 1 in 10 weekends/year (paid)
  • Practice Detail: Join a team of more than 10 APPs in cardiology to deliver care to acute and clinic based cardiology patients.  Previous experience (at least 2 years as an APP) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Ascension St John is looking for a Cardiology APP for our Cardiology team.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
  • Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Required Credential(s):
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing. For incumbents working in Kansas-based facilities, licensure through the Kansas Board of Nursing will be required.
Preferred Credential(s):
• Drug Enforcement Admin.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing.

 

Education:
• Master's degree of Nursing required.
