Advanced Practice Provider - Cardiology Hospitalist

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Franciscan Physician Network is looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work at Franciscan Health Indianapolis in Indianapolis. Interested candidate will join a large collegial group, of equal shares, multi-specialty team of 33 cardiologists, three cardiac hospitalists, and 24 advanced practice providers.

WHAT WE NEED:

Candidate having some cardiology post-training acute care experience is preferred, not required. The candidate must have a strong focus on clinical excellence and patient satisfaction. Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will need to work collaboratively with patients and their hospitalist physician and emergency department colleagues to coordinate and deliver the highest quality of care.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

• Schedule: 72 hours – one week on, 2 weeks off

• Average inpatient volume: 15-20 patients per day

• No weekend or holiday call

• Common Diagnoses:

  • Atrial Fibrillation

  • Hypertension

  • Coronary Artery Disease

  • Heart Failure

  • Dyslipidemia

• Daily Duties:

  • Complete patient health assessments

  • Diagnosis and treat individuals with current or potential cardiac needs

  • Offer lifestyle, medical and dietary suggestions

  • Develop treatment plan for patients

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree - Required

• Physician Assistant Certified (PA-C) – Required - or

• Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Nationally Recognized Certification - Required

• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association - Required
