  • Specialty: Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Subspecialty Interest: Vascular Surgery
  • Schedule: 1.00 FTE
  • Call Schedule: 1:6 Call
  • Practice Detail:  The team consists of 5 other PAs. Hours vary depending on rotating call schedule, but usually 7:00am-5:00pm with occasional weekends and holidays.
  • EMR System: EPIC
  • Facility: Ascension Water Tower Medical Commons, St. Mary's Ozaukee and All Saints in Racine
  • Location: Milwaukee, Mequon and Racine

Responsibilities

Ascension Wisconsin is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider Manager for our Vascular Surgery Department.

 

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Medical Group to provide medical services to patients.

 

Position Highlights:

 

  • Assist in surgery; Cardiac and Vascular
  • Occasional outpatient clinics 
  • Rotating rounding responsibilities, working closely with the CVICU team
  • May place/remove Intra Aortic Balloon Pumps
  • Obtains patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic procedures
  • Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions
  • Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources

  • Obtains patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic procedures.
  • Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.
  • Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
  • Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations, and care.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Physician Assistant credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Orthopedic Physician Assistant preferred. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

 Education:

  • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program required.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 1 year of experience preferred.
