Illinois Inpatient Gastroenterology APP

The Gastroenterology APP will work Monday-Friday, 8a-4:30p, primarily at Herrin Hospital with occasional assistance at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. The role involves collaborating with the GI team to provide care for hospitalized patients.

Role Specifics:

• No call or weekend requirements
• Team of two GI APPs covering the hospitals, one located at each hospital
• Responsible for completing consults on inpatients for their GI related needs
• Complete the History and Physical with the patient and the Assessment and Plan
• Escalate the assessment and plan to the GI Physician on complex patients or as needed
• Complete follow up consults on patients as needed

Qualifications:

Education
• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from a CAHEA accredited program
• Master’s Degree in Advanced Practice Nursing Studies from a CCNEA accredited program.

Licenses and Certification
• Current Illinois Licensed Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse
• Current NCCPA certificate as a Physician Assistant or AACC certificate as an Advanced Practice Nurse
• Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse practitioner-controlled substance licensure
