Seeking a Skilled Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) – Mercy Bariatrics and Weight Management

Mercy Bariatrics and Weight Management is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) to join our team. In this full-time role, you will play a pivotal part in evaluating and managing patients undergoing general and bariatric surgery, as well as those participating in weight loss programs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Evaluations & Surgical Work-Ups:
    • Assess new surgical patients for both general and bariatric procedures.
    • Develop comprehensive, individualized care plans.
  • Post-Operative Care:
    • Deliver expert post-operative management to ensure optimal recovery.
    • Conduct hospital rounds twice a week, supplementing office consultations as needed.
  • Weight Management Services:
    • Build and manage your own panel of weight loss patients, including both new consultations and ongoing follow-up care.
  • On-Call Responsibilities:
    • Participate in scheduled call on an occasional basis and provide coverage as necessary.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven clinical expertise in evaluating surgical candidates and managing post-operative care.
  • APC Education: Completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) program (e.g., Master’s in Nursing, Physician Assistant studies) and relevant certifications.
  • Specialized knowledge and sensitivity in bariatric healthcare.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

 

Work Schedule & Environment:
This position operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role balances hospital rounds with office-based patient consultations in a professional, inclusive, and supportive setting.
