Ascension Medical Group is looking for a full-time, Certified Nurse Practitioner for Ascension River District Family Practice in East China, Michigan. This position requires prior experience—new graduates will not be considered. The ideal candidate will have experience in urgent care, internal medicine, and primary care. The position involves working with a patient base that includes individuals of all ages, though pediatrics is minimal. Applicants must be licensed to care for patients of all ages. Some evening shifts are required. The role will also involve performing minor primary care procedures. This is a great opportunity to join a dedicated team in a supportive and rewarding environment.

Position Highlights:

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with a physician, provides for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions.
  • Obtain patient history and perform assessment of incoming patients as well as other clinical duties to support direct patient care.
  • Order, perform and interpret diagnostic studies.
  • Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
  • Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Counsel and educate patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Document delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.

Qualifications: 

  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. 
  • Certified as a Nurse Practitioner. 
  • Prior experience in a similar primary care setting preferred (Urgent Care, Primary Care, Internal Medicine)
