Advanced Practice Provider - Neurosurgery

ProMedica Physicians Group (PPG) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Advanced Practice Provider for a role with an established neurosurgery practice in Toledo, Ohio.  The practice has served the Toledo area for many years and has an excellent reputation for providing high-quality, compassionate care.     

Job Description:

  • Obtains complete histories and performs physical exams, formulation of care plans, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests and provides education to patients and their families

  • Assists with neurosurgical consults and admissions, and with provider rounding, to include:  writing notes, orders, wound care, etc.

  • Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, families, staff and members  of the community from diverse backgrounds

  • Facilitates the coordination of inpatient and outpatient care and services

  • Works in a collaborative team approach, with other health professionals to determine health needs of patients and families

  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations and adheres to the institutional and departmental policies and procedures

  • 3 12 hour shifts

  • 1 in 3 weekends

  • 6 APPs + 5 neurosurgeons at TTh

  • Rounding with the physicians & patient post-op education

  • Working with other lines of care

  • Consults in the ER

  • Inpatient rounding at Toledo Hospital

  • Epic EMR

  • Certificate of Authority to practice.   

  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification.  

Physician Assistant

  • Masters degree

  • Must be licensed or license eligible in the state of Ohio 

  • PA-C 

Nurse Practitioner

  • Masters of nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing (DNP) degree 

  • Must be licensed or license eligible in the state of Ohio
