Job Description

Adventist Health Castle (AHCS) seeks a full-time, community and mission-minded, board certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), to join its inpatient behavioral health services team. The position involves working the late shift (3:30 p.m. to midnight) in an inpatient setting with a 29-bed unit, supporting the care of adult patients’ various mental health disorders like anxiety, depression, and psychotic disorders. The PMHNP-BC will include support of emergency department and floor consults. The multidisciplinary team-approach emphasizes collaboration among psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, case managers, and mental health technicians, fostering a supportive environment for both staff and patients. Minimum Qualifications: Completion of an accredited graduate-level program that produced a master’s degree in clinical nursing or nursing science in relevant field of specialty. Current Hawaii Registered Nurse License. Current Hawaii Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License with prescriptive authority that meets education requirement(s) for Hawaii state APRN prescriptive authority. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required for area. Two (2) years nurse practitioner experience. Prefer three (3) years NP experience or equivalent in behavioral health. Extensive background in an acute care setting desired, as well as clinic setting experience.

Candidates must be Board Certified for Psychiatric-Mental Health, Hawaii licensed or eligible, and meet the hospital’s medical staff credentialing standards.
