Responsibilities

Ascension Wisconsin is looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Advanced Practice Clinician, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Hospitalist Department.

 

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Wisconsin to provide medical services to patients.

 

 

In collaboration with a physician, provide for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions.

 

Position Highlights:

  • 7days on/7 days off model
  • 168, 10 hour shifts
  • Days only
  • Acute care and inpatient clinical rotation experience during training and/or experience working in an ICU setting would be ideal.
  • Participate in different aspects of care including admissions, cross coverage, patient education, communication with patient's families and consultants, RRTs coverage. 

Provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician.

  • Obtain patient history and performs assessment. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic procedures.
  • Provide and document direct treatment and management of health conditions.
  • Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
  • Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

Education:

  • Master's degree of Nursing required.
