The successful applicant will be an Advanced Practice Provider interested in working full-time in the care of patients with Neurological Disease, treating patients with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease, as well as other Cognitive & Behavioral Neurology diagnosis. This APP position functions in a team-based arrangement that is part of the newly formed South Carolina Alzheimer’s Network (SCAN). SCAN is a multi-site clinical program at MUSC health designed to provide patients with an early and accurate diagnosis and treatment plan, longitudinal co-management with primary care, access to the new Alzheimer’s disease medications, and access to the latest research.
The person filling this position will be part of an interdisciplinary team working to achieve these goals and will have ample opportunity to collaborate with other team members and primary care providers to enhance the care of dementia patients and their families. The ideal candidate is an individual looking to optimize their practice while thriving within a team-based environment.

Hours per week: 40
Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: Monday – Friday, 8AM – 5PM or 8:30AM to 5:30PM, 4-hour clinic blocks x 8 clinics p/week.

Required Training and Experience
Required Minimum Training: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an APRN as noted below.

APRN License Type/Certification: Currently licensed (or eligible) in the state of South Carolina as a Physician Assistant by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners or as an Advanced Practice Nurse (FNP or APNP) with the SC Board of Nursing. Requires certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Required Experience: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an APRN as noted below.
Degree of Supervision
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant will be assigned a Primary Supervising/Collaborating Physician employed by MUSC and will report directly to this physician.
