NeuroHospitalist NP or PA Position

HonorHealth-Hospital Employed

M- F Days

Outstanding opportunity to join a fully staffed, long-standing NeuroHospitalist Program in a community based non-profit healthcare system established in 2006.

HonorHealth was an early pioneer in the creation of a dedicated NeuroHospitalist team.  Of the original founders, one is retired and the other remains as the Medical Director.  As HonorHealth has grown, so has the NeuroHospitalist program.  There are currently nine NeuroHospitalist with 100% retention- meaning everyone who has joined the HonorHealth as a NeuroHospitalist is still with the program.

Due to the continued growth in the Phoenix metro area, and HonorHealth being a destination location for Neurosciences and a Comprehensive Stroke Center, the team is adding NeuroHospitalist Advanced Practice Providers to be a part of this dynamic team.

The NeuroHospitalist program covers post-acute stroke as there is a separate stroke service for the initial stroke alerts.  The APP will work closely with the NeuroHospitalist on service and be a critical team member to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner, patients and families understand the diagnosis and post hospitalization care.  Curiosity to always look beyond the obvious, empathy for each individual patient and compassionate care are the cornerstones of the qualities HonorHealth seeks for this position.  Experience in the neurological services required – clinic or in-patient.

The model at HonorHealth as a multi-hospital system each community-based program has two neuro-hospitalists which provide 24/7 week-on/week-off care.  The APP will generally be at a hospital around 300 +/- beds in a suburban location.   As a destination center for Neurosciences, your patient mix remains interesting in a calmer hospital environment compared to a downtown major metro area hospital.  Currently there are not neuro residents so as the APP, you are not competing to see the interesting patients – you are the right arm of the NeuroHospitalist!  Your experience will determine your level of autonomy.

The dynamic Bob Bove' Neuroscience Institute at HonorHealth is the state’s newest multidisciplinary destination for complete and coordinated neurological care, support services and research, all in one location. Opened in 2021, the state-of-the-art facility has 120,000 square feet of space providing access to top neurosurgeons, neurologists, neuroradiologists, physical medicine and rehabilitation providers, research trials and therapists for collaborative treatment of brain, spine, and nervous system conditions.
