Job Description

Join Providence Hospice of Seattle as full-time Palliative Care nurse practitioner. The nurse practitioner will be the main provider for the community-based Palliative Care program for adult patients. The program was initiated in 2021 and has a current census of 85. In this position, the NP will make in-person home visits with oversight from the medical director and program director. Follow-up visits will be made according to need, with a cadence of every 3 to 12 weeks. The work will involve only out-patient (home based) palliative care, and the NP is expected to collaborate with the patient’s PCP and specialists. The NP can prescribe medications, including controlled substances, as appropriate and indicated. An MSW is also a member of the palliative care team, and the NP will work closely with this individual as well as the program director/manager.

  • Out-patient (home based) palliative care
  • Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Reports to Hospice and Palliative Care Medical Director for clinical management and the Palliative Care Program Director/Manager for operational management
  • One year minimum of palliative care experience required, preferably 2+ years
  • Compensation is between $131,000 and $153,000 per year. CME allowance is 5 days with $3,000 for tuition, etc.
  • The compensation amounts listed are total compensation based on a 1.0 FTE and may include productivity or quality/service incentives, call pay, extra shift incentives, as applicable to the position. In addition, providers may have CME benefits available to them
