APP Fellowship Opportunity with Academic Health System

Join our Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellowship and advance your career under the guidance of experienced cardiology providers. The Cardiology APP Fellowship aims to provide a comprehensive, postgraduate training program focused on providing high quality, evidence-based and collaborative cardiology care. The goal is to build clinical knowledge and confidence in managing a wide variety of cardiac conditions through a structured curriculum. Fellows will spend 12 months at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist rotating through both inpatient and ambulatory cardiology with our general cardiology, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, advanced heart failure, preventive cardiology and structural heart teams. APP fellows will participate in clinical rotations, didactic learning, simulations through our Center for Experiential and Applied Learning (CEAL), professional presentations and quality improvement initiatives.

Education:

The program is open to newly graduated APPs or experienced APPs who wish to transition to cardiology.

Physician Assistant (PA) Requirements: 

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master's Degree preferred
  • Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, Certified by NCCPA
  • BLS and ACLS is required through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross

Nurse Practitioner (NP) Requirements:

  • Graduation from accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program, Master’s degree or higher required
  • Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license
  • Board certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC
  • BLS and ACLS is required through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
