General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider

About this role: 


As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in General Surgery you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience.? In this role you will work with Dr. Richards to provide care for and treat patients with simple and complex diseases of the abdomen.  The majority of these will be problems of the foregut including cancers, anatomic disorders, and organ dysfunctions.  You will have a chance to practice at the top of your license seeing new patients, caring for patients perioperatively, assisting in the OR, and seeing patients in postop care.

  • This position includes up to?$5,625 in relocation assistance
  • You will practice at the Utah Valley Hospital campus in Provo, Utah 
  • You will first assist in the OR and provide inpatient services for hospital inpatients as needed.  You will see clinic patients (both in person and virtual visits) and will work to build a team-based practice.  You will help with teaching, research activities, and administratively as you and Dr. Richards see fit.  
  • You will not be expected to take call as part of this role.

What you’ll bring: 

  • APRN or PA-C degree from an accredited program 
  • AANP or AAPA Certification
  • Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one 
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process 
  •  4-5 years of experience as a General Surgery APP w/ 2 years of complex case APP experience, preferred 
  • BLS, ACLS certification and DEA
  • Candidates requiring Visa sponsorship will be reviewed on an individual basis
