Certified Nurse Midwife Opportunity in Dartmouth, MA

Hawthorn Medical Associates is currently seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join our OB/GYN department at our location in Dartmouth, MA. The group makes between 1200-1400 deliveries per year. 

The certified nurse-midwife provides a full range of women’s health care services from adolescence through adulthood. These services include well-women care, gynecologic and family planning services, preconception care, care during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum period. Midwives provide initial and ongoing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment. They conduct physical examinations; prescribe medications including controlled substances, and contraceptive methods; admit, manage and discharge patients; order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests and order the use of medical devices. Midwifery care also includes health promotion, disease prevention, and individualized wellness education and counseling. These services are provided in partnership with women and families. 

To qualify for this position, you must possess a Graduate degree with completion of a Midwifery Education Program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME) and pass a national certification examination administered by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) to receive the professional designation of Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM). RN license by the Massachusetts Board of Nursing is also required.
