About this role:

This Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) will join our Gynecologic Oncology team serving the Salt Lake Valley of Utah, providing care at both LDS Hospital and Intermountain Medical Center. Our team is comprised of physicians and staff within Intermountain Health and the University of Utah, all committed to quality care for women with gynecologic malignancies.
 

Full time, the APP work an average 40 hours per week during regular clinic hours (Monday – Friday).


Specific Role Responsibilities

  • The APP will provide specialty care services in both outpatient and acute care settings for health conditions related to gynecologic oncology patients, in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Direct treatment and management of health conditions, including use of prescriptive authority and referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Performs gynecologic assessments including pelvic exams, pap smears, biopsies, and colposcopies.
  • Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies.
  • Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning their diagnosis, treatment plans, and surveillance.
  • Provides surveillance per NCCN guidelines for gynecologic cancer survivors, screening for recurrence.
  • Assists with surgery (particularly robotics).
  • Performs in-patient care and morning rounds on post-surgical patients and hospitalized patients with complications related to their gynecologic cancer diagnosis.
  • Provides care in the context of promoting age and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision-making and the right to self-determination.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

What you’ll bring:

  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Utah APRN or PA and Controlled Substance license, or the ability to obtain prior to starting employment.
  • Federal DEA Certificate II – V
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process
  • Passion for women's health, oncology and a commitment to quality and patient centered care.
