JOB SUMMARY
Supervises Site Chief Anesthetists, helps with department wide recruiting, continuing education and professional development, discipline, discharging and evaluating of anesthetists at all sites where the department provides Anesthesia care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
- Supervises the Site Chief Anesthetists.
- Directs Site Chief Anesthetists with administering department policies and procedures in addition to selection, placement, training, discipline, discharging and evaluating of all Anesthetists.
- Provides guidance to Site Chief Anesthetists when they conduct employee performance evaluations and helps coordinate and outline SWAT goals for staff development and appropriate recognition for all Anesthetists.
- Guides site Chief Anesthetists with developing and coordinating new staff orientation to ensure consistency with the system.
- Coordinating with Site Chief Anesthetists, round and meet regularly with anesthetists to stay abreast of operational demands, to communicate new and/or revised policies and procedures and to assist them in the solution of day-to-day clinical and quality problems.
- Participates effectively in professional and management development activities.
- Assists the department director and department administrator with developing appropriate clinical standards relating to patient care by providing clinical expertise.
- Performs CRNA or Anesthesiologist Assistant duties on a regular basis.
- Guides educational and research work in conjunction with funded activities
- Attends management staff meetings and serves on appropriate Scott & White committees and state and national organization committees.
- Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
- Graduate from accredited professional nursing program and nurse anesthesiology program or graduate from accredited Anesthesiology Assistant Program
- Demonstrate ability to work with and through designated chains of command
- Demonstrate maturity and initiative
- Master degree preferred

QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION - Bachelor's
- EXPERIENCE - 10 Years of Experience
- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA)
- ACLS (ACLS): ACLS in 30 days of hire or transfer.
- Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS in 30 days of hire or transfer.
