Job Posting: Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) – Primary & Palliative Care

Klickitat Valley Health (KVH) is excited to offer a unique employment opportunity for a compassionate ARNP dedicated to serving patients with serious, progressive illnesses. This position blends Primary Care and Palliative Care, focusing on providing support to individuals and families managing chronic and advanced diseases.

As part of our Family Medicine team, which includes 3 physicians and 6 mid-level providers, you will work within a collaborative, patient-centered environment. KVH is a designated Rural Health Clinic (RHC) that offers a wide range of services, including ExpressCare, Pain Management, Behavioral Health, Optometry, and Dental.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary care and palliative care services to patients with chronic and progressive illnesses.
  • Conduct patient visits primarily in a clinic setting, with some visits in patient homes and via virtual consultations.
  • Collaborate with our dedicated Palliative Care team, including nurses, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers, to develop individualized care plans.
  • Offer chronic care management, advanced care planning, and transitional care planning.
  • Partner with our Hospice team to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
  • Review patient health data, perform assessments, and develop treatment plans based on individual needs.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage acute illnesses and injuries, chronic conditions, and provide preventative care.
  • Perform procedures such as suturing, skin biopsies, and minor dermatologic treatments.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including x-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and lab work.
  • Educate patients on self-care, health maintenance, and wellness promotion.
  • Document patient information and clinical data accurately in the Meditech Expanse EMR system.

Position Highlights:

  • Primary Care providers see 13-17 patients per day.
  • Palliative Care team currently manages 50 patients, with plans for program expansion.

Qualifications:

Education & Licensure:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current RN license in Washington State.
  • Master’s or Doctoral Degree from an accredited institution recognized by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
  • Current unrestricted registration/license as an Advanced Practice Nurse in Washington State.
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center or American Academy of Nursing preferred.
  • Current BLS and ACLS/PALS certifications.

Experience:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience providing direct patient care in an outpatient or acute care setting preferred.

Safety Sensitive:

  • This position is classified as Safety Sensitive per WA SB5123.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessments, treatment planning, and follow-up.
  • Perform various patient procedures and screenings.
  • Prescribe medications and manage patient education.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
