Adventist Health Sierra Vista is seeking an experienced and compassionate Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our women’s health team in San Luis Obispo, CA. As a CNM, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing care to women across all stages of pregnancy and childbirth, along with general gynecological services. This position emphasizes patient-centered care and shared decision-making, supporting Adventist Health’s mission to improve community health.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum, ensuring safe, compassionate care for both mother and newborn.
- Conduct prenatal, postpartum, and gynecological exams, performing necessary screenings and tests.
- Educate patients on reproductive health, family planning, and preventive care to promote wellness.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including OB/GYNs, nurses, and support staff, to create integrated and individualized care plans.
- Monitor and manage complications, recognizing when to consult or refer to higher levels of care.
- Advocate for patient-centered, culturally sensitive, and respectful care in line with Adventist Health’s core values.
Qualifications

Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing with a focus on Nurse Midwifery.

Certification: Current Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).

Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Midwife licenses in the state of California.

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in women’s health or midwifery, with experience in both hospital and outpatient settings preferred.
