The CRNA is responsible for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating general, regional, monitored anesthesia care, and local anesthesia as well as analgesia while under the supervision of the anesthesiologist or surgeon. The CRNA performs pre and post-operative assessments of patients, monitors progress and is responsible for successful outcomes of the process.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Is knowledgeable of anesthesia administration, monitoring and evaluation. Is knowledgeable of anesthesia equipment and its operation. Is knowledgeable regarding policies and procedures, and PPE's universal precautions.
ABILITIES, INTERESTS AND TEMPERAMENTS:
The RN will successfully complete orientation and hospital-wide and department-specific CBL's (computerized based learning). The RN will participate in departmental inservices and will demonstrate competency by completing the service specific competency testing / evaluation process, as appropriate to the RN role. Continuing education programs will be offered to augment the RN's knowledge of pertinent developments in patient care and to foster a performance improvement environment.
