About the Opportunity

Henry Ford St. John Hospital is seeking a Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our dedicated team. This PRN position focuses on providing high-quality care to newborns in our Level III NICU.

As an integral member of the clinical team, the NNP collaborates with neonatologists, subspecialists, and nursing staff to deliver exceptional care to our pediatric patients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide care for newborns admitted to inpatient units under the supervision of neonatologists.
  • Coordinate clinical care in the NICU, including delivery room stabilization and accompanying the transport team.
  • Perform assessments, gather relevant data, and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Order and follow up on diagnostic tests, perform necessary procedures, and document care in the Cerner EMR.
  • Communicate with subspecialists, nursing staff, and ancillary services for seamless patient care.
  • Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions, including prescriptive authority or referrals.
  • Counsel and educate families on preventative health, treatment options, and available community resources.
  • Document care delivery in accordance with specialty standards.

Qualifications

  • Licensure/Certification:

    • BLS Provider credential (American Heart Association required).
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Certification.
    • Registered Nurse credential from the Michigan Board of Nursing.
    • Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority credential from the Michigan Board of Nursing.
    • Federal DEA License.
    • National Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certification.
  • Education:

    • Master’s Degree in Nursing (required).
